We are a group of committed Christians who believe the gospel of Jesus Christ. We study the Word of God and strive to live according to what it teaches. We come together for worship on Sundays and we meet at other times throughout the week to affirm our faith in God, share our hope in Jesus Christ, love each other, and serve our community. We aim to increasingly reflect Christ in who we are and in all we do.
Our beliefs
Our church’s statement of faith, anchored in God’s Word and aligned with Protestant Christianity, is adapted from the New Hampshire Baptist Confession (1833). Our church also affirms the Apostles’ Creed (2nd Century), the Nicene Creed (325 and 381), the Second London Baptist Confession (1689), the Abstract of Principles (1858), and the Baptist Faith and Message (2000). Our church further accepts the Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy (1978) and the Nashville Statement (2017).
our PRIORITIES
Biblical authority. The Bible is God’s Holy Word. It is the foundation for who we are, what we believe, and how we live. The Bible reveals God, exposes our sin, offers us eternal life through Jesus Christ, and teaches us how to live. It is our standard for faith and practice.
Expository preaching. We teach the Bible in its historical, theological context, and we apply its meaning to our lives. Our worship focuses on the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and worship involves the whole church.
Meaningful membership. We are an autonomous, self-governing congregation of born-again, baptized believers. The authority of the church is vested in our members. We are united by the Spirit of God, led by a plurality of male elders, served by a cohort of deacons.
Sovereign grace. We believe God is our loving King—the ruler over all things—and our merciful Savior—the only mediator between God and human-beings. God, in the riches of his sovereign grace, loves undeserving sinners like us and chooses us for salvation.
Great Commission. We are called to go and make disciples, sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with our neighbors and the nations. We declare the glories of Christ through gospel proclamation, physical presence, and intentional participation.
our PARTNERSHIPS
We are an interdependent, cooperating church with the Southern Baptist Convention, the Pillar Network, the Georgia Baptist Mission Board, and the Greater Atlanta Baptist Network. Together we are committed to starting and strengthening churches as well as sending missionaries.
