Graduation Sunday

God, by his grace, has blessed our church families with many children and grandchildren; and we have a growing children’s ministry and a healthy youth group. These important ministries support parents—but they do not supersede them—as parents strive to disciple their children. We desire for our children’s and youth ministries to partner with Christian parents, so their children know God and set their hope on Jesus Christ.

The youth group supports the primary discipleship role of parents, helping teens in the transition from childhood to adulthood; from dependence to independence. We want our students to understand the Christian faith, believe it for themselves, learn from other godly Christians, and follow Jesus as participating church members. Ultimately, the church points our students to Christ for the rest of their lives unto enteral life.

At this time of year, we recognize our high school seniors for all they have accomplished. As they graduate from high school, and make big life decisions, they are beginning an exciting new season of their lives. Graduation marks both the end of high school and the beginning of all that comes next. This year Kyrstal and I are full of emotion, reflecting on all this, because Miles is graduating from high school next week and starting college in the fall.

Krystal and I are grateful for the countless believers who have modeled what it means to be a faithful Christian in every sphere of life. Miles has participated in children’s ministry, youth group, worship on Sundays, small groups, Bible studies, fellowship meals, church workdays, weddings, funerals, summer camp, and so much more. Believers, including many of you, have shown Miles how to follow Christ, affirmed his faith in Jesus, and supported our discipleship. Thank you.

I am looking forward to seeing you on Sunday for our discipleship hour at 9:00am, coffee fellowship at 10:00am, worship at 10:30am.

In Christ,

Pastor Nathan
